Alberto Arboleda (1925 – 2011) was a ceramist trained in Bogotá with the Basque sculptor Jorge Oteiza. In the mid-twentieth century he participated in the artistic movement that consolidated the principles of cultural modernity in Colombia. Later he developed a large part of his career in Belgium. In addition to ceramics, he explored relationships between different materials as a collage. His artistic career leaded him to live in Spain, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Belgium, Sweden and Norway. His works are present at private collections in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Congo, Japan, Great Britain, the United States, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Colombia.
