David Azuz is from Tel Aviv, Israel, living in France. He is a FIGURATIVE painter, with a rich, colorful style. His paintings are masterfully drawn and full of curiosity for the simple details of life. Azuz’s subjects, in bistros and markets, whether in Rome, Paris or Tel Aviv, often express the solitude of the individual. He captures the activitiy occurring late at night in Paris cafes, in search of those characteristic attitudes of the bartenders and patrons. Some of his famous subjects include young couples in love, hiding their romance in the corner or old ladies getting a little warmth from the anisette they sip slowly to make time go by.
