This is a 1970 lithograph titled “Studi Di Cavalli” or “Studies of Horses” by Michelangelo.

In excellent condition. Measures 12 1/4″ x 17″. Sepia Toned. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The value of this lithographic print of Michelangelo’s original drawing, lies in its remarkable resemblance in quality and appearance to the Master’s original. The original is on display within the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.

This lithograph was produced and copyrighted in 1970 as part of a portfolio and distributed in a limited edition through the former Italian mail order catalogue company, ICIM & PBS.

This lithograph is a fitting tribute in its execution and beauty to Michelangelo’s great draftsmanship. It is as painstakingly close to the priceless originals as possible.

These prints are so well rendered that the Michelangelo Buonarroti Museum in Florence exhibits these portfolio replicas to the public, instead of the precious and extremely fragile originals.

This lithograph was reproduced in a very sophisticated process by a well-respected and renowned lithographer, Mr. Amilcare Pizzi. His process began by obtaining permission from the involved world museums, then creating a plate through an exact lithography and then making the final exactly scaled prints utilizing paper called rusticus, very similar in appearance and quality to the actual old parchment originals.

This limited, and no longer produced lithograph would enhance any home, office or work environment and is also an artistic investment of some merit.

THIS IS THE BEST PRICE YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE FOR THE SAME PIECE!
