Pierre-Auguste Renoir SUR LA PLAGE Signed Restrike Etching

This is a Pierre-Auguste Renoir restrike etching titled “SUR LA PLAGE” or ON THE BEACH” (c. 1892). The central image shows Julie Manet, Berthe Morisot’s daughter, and her cousin watching bathers from the beach.

Struck on thin handmade wove paper. signed Renoir in the plate, lower left.  Image measures 5 ” x 4″. Paper measures 11″ x 9″.

This etching is in excellent condition, comes unframed. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Restrike etchings are a modern-day print of an antique print that are made from the original plate that was used to make the first prints. This is the same etching you see in galleries and cruise auctions for over well $400.
