 Pierre-Marie Rudelle is a French artist painter born in 1932 who specializes in trompe l’oeil which is French for “deceive the eye”, which is an art technique that uses realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions. He was commissioned by Jacqueline Kennedy to paint a pair of doors in her dressing room in the White House. He died in Paris on 28 December 2015 at the age of 83 years.
