Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Terry studied art full time at the Jesmond College of Art & Industrial Design progressing to an Architects Office & then a design studio in Blackburn.
Terry has used most mediums, but for some time now he has concentrated on the use of oils. He likes producing landscapes generated with a mix of drama and light from his home studio. Colours are mixed on sheets of glass or old plates rather than a specific mixing palette; using a large flat brush which can provide the necessary inferred detail on either primed canvas or timber board. Terry’s work is honest and instinctive.
Returning to Newcastle, Terry devotes himself to painting full-time, his commissions including landscapes, townscapes, portraits & wildlife.
